The Online Etymology Dictionaryによると、以下の通り。 英語のメンテナンスという言葉は、14世紀に生まれました。 古フランス語のmaintenaunceに由来し、「維持、庇護、保護」を意味した。 英語の動詞maintenenは13世紀のもので、原インド・ヨーロッパ語族の語源man, “hand” と ten, “to stretch “にまで遡ることができる。
